Pikeur Prime down coats.

Like a lot of companies, Imperial Equestrian Ltd is looking to sell brands that are moving towards using responsibly sourced materials.

One of our original brands, Pikeur has taken steps to implement a more responsible attitude to animal welfare practices. Pikeur is now filling their down-filled coats with responsibly sourced down and have RDS Responsible Standard Certificate label on their coats.

Here at Imperial equestrian, we stock the Pikeur Amara down coat, which comes in two lovely colours, Nightblue or Silver Grey This Coat is perfect for keeping you snug and warm this winter. It has a  detachable hood with detachable imitation fur trim. A two-way zip, zipped pockets and closed cuffs at the sleeves and has the RDS certificate. The responsible Down standard aims to ensure that down and feathers come from ducks and geese that have not been subjected to unnecessary harm. It is hoped that the standard can be used to reward and influence the down and feather industry to incentivise practices that respect the humane treatment of ducks and geese.

The responsible down standard is an independent, voluntary global standard, which means that companies can choose to certify their products to the RDS, even if there is no legislation requiring them to do so. The RDS was developed and revised over three years, with the input of animal welfare groups, industry experts, brands and retailers. The standard recognises and rewards the best practices in animal welfare.

Hopefully, we will be seeing more companies following Pikeur by implementing these steps to help forge a united front on animal welfare.
